More About the Trip

During the week we are on the Native Reserve we run a VBS like children’s program for children ages 5-13. The program includes games, crafts, songs, stories told through drama all with the purpose of showing God’s love to the children.  This year will be the first year that we will also be providing the kids with lunch during the program.

Our theme for 2010 is “The Adventures of Peter” as we teach on the life of Peter and how he struggled in his path to following Jesus. Our main teaching is done through drama performances and then re-enforced through work sheets, games, songs and memory work.

Because our daily program happens mid morning to mid afternoon we are then able to run separate programs in the evening. These include outreaches to the teens that may be in the past be in a part of our day program. As well, new to our 2010 trip we are including a few nights of outreach to the women. We are running at least two nights of crafts and hope to provide the women with bibles and other resources. At the end of the week we also will be hosting a Community BBQ where we will be inviting all the parents to come and see what the kids have learned through the week and just to continue to build relationships with the community.
