We believe in a partnership between the church and the home to make the greatest spiritual impact in the lives of our children. That’s why we are committed to partnering with parents by equipping them to be the primary spiritual leaders in their home. We do this through Life Groups, parenting LIFE groups, monthly Family Take Home Experiences, occasional family events, Sunday messages, and resource suggestions.
We also recognize the importance of having other adults, in addition to mom and dad, involved in a child’s life. For this reason, we focus on providing small group leaders in our programs to facilitate and nurture healthy relationships with other adult role models.
We take our role seriously when you invite us to be a part of your family and so we’ve created a spiritual development plan for your child from 0-12. This plan focuses on the big ideas that are most vital to your child’s spiritual growth and formation.
All of our volunteers are screened through an application process, reference, police and vulnerable sector checks, and mandatory participation in a Plan to Protect workshop. Police checks are renewed every three years and our Plan to Protect is reviewed annually.

Available during our 9am Sunday Service, our nursery provides loving care for babies and toddlers up to age 3.
The nursery has safe play areas with lots of toys, rocking chairs, change tables, and a washroom. Screened volunteers will lovingly care for your children while you enjoy the service!
If you’d like to take in the service with your baby in your arms, or if your toddler likes to roam, our Library offers informal/casual seating for parents with a live video feed to the service.
Waumba Land means “the land of the Creator” in Swahili! Waumba Land is our Sunday morning program for preschoolers ages 3-5 years during the 9 am service.
We offer your preschooler a fun activity based program, lead by screened volunteers, that helps your child understand that:
- God made them
- God loves them
- Jesus wants to be their friend forever!
When you come to the UpStreet area, you enter a ‘city street’ environment, creating the feel of a neighbourhood where your children in Gr 1-5 learn biblical truths in an engaging, age-appropriate way, and build quality friendships with other kids and adult leaders.
UpStreet is built around three primary biblical virtues:
- I need to make wise choices
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way that I want to be treated
Large and small group experiences will connect our 1-5 graders and help them begin to unpack what it means to have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want our children to see how God’s word applies to their life, how His truth really tells them how to live. Children will be connected to the same group leader every week, giving them another trusted relationship that will help connect them to a relationship with God.
But Sunday morning is just the tip of the iceberg for a child’s spiritual development, and so we partner with parents and families to encourage conversations about Jesus throughout the week. Each month we provide a Family Take Home Experience to equip you as the primary spiritual influence in the life of your child.
