Within Acts we find several stories of financial transactions...and they don't typically end well. The story of Ananias & Sapphira is one of those stories (chapters 4 & 5), and it's a tough one to reconcile with. The punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime, and we want sympathy for this couple, because, if we're honest, we identify with them.
